Dr. Jack Pierce, from Atlanta, GA, has always had a special place in his heart for the stunning southern Colorado high country where he spent his childhood summers. In 2011, he and his wife, Dana, made the big move to make Colorado their home. Driven by his passions for animals and science, Dr. Pierce earned a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. Thus far in his career, he has honed his knowledge and skills in general medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry, serving communities in Colorado Springs and Denver.
In 2022, Dr. Pierce and Dana were thrilled to welcome their first child, Henry, into the world. Inspired to create their dream family practice, they searched for a veterinary hospital to purchase in a Colorado mountain town. The Pierces knew the abundant nearby adventures, picturesque scenery, and tightknit community of Buena Vista would make the perfect fit for raising their family. Here, they established Collegiate Peaks Veterinary Hospital, where they provide exceptional veterinary care to the pets of their community.
Dr. Pierce’s expertise shines brightest in surgery, dentistry, and urgent care, areas that fuel his passion for helping animals. Beyond the clinic walls, he and Dana spend their time exploring new destinations or immersing themselves in the great outdoors through snowboarding, hiking, camping, and off-roading. The Pierces’ lives are filled with joy and laughter by their son Henry and their two furry companions, Ruby the Great Dane, and Zaxby the Boston Terrier x French Bulldog mix.

Dr. Lester has been a practicing veterinarian for 15 years in Colorado Springs, and more recently in beautiful Buena Vista. Dr. Lester earned her degree of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University and moved to Colorado to pursue both her passion for veterinary medicine and her love of the outdoors. She enjoys working with both small animals (dogs and cats) and exotics (birds, small mammals, reptiles), and has been working in general practice, emergency medicine, and teaching at a college for veterinary technicians. She particularly enjoys urgent care, surgery, and general medicine.
Buena Vista has been an amazing and welcoming community for Dr. Lester and her family, including her husband, twin girls, and current feline goblins Chad and Marchello. Besides her veterinary career, she enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, and snowboarding amongst the many outdoor activities available in our mountain town.
Dr. Lester is excited to be able to practice compassionate and high-quality medical care along with a truly amazing team at Collegiate Peaks Veterinary Hospital. She feels especially lucky to have the rewarding opportunity to work in a small town with such a close-knit community and close relationship with our furry, feathery, and scaly best friends.
